INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three members of the Franklin women's lacrosse team picked up all-conference honors for the first time in their careers on Thursday (May 9) morning. Senior Brooke Hughes and sophomores Courtney Jones and Abbey Voss were all among the all-conference selections, with Hughes earning Second Team All-HCAC honors and Voss and Jones picking up honorable mention selections. Madeleine Correll was Franklin's representative on the Christopher M. Ragsdale All-Sportsmanship Team.
Hughes capped her playing career as the team's leading scorer in 2019, burying 17 goals and adding four assists for 21 points. The Rossville, Ind.-native also led the Grizzlies with 36 shot attempts and 31 shots on goal while grabbing 20 ground balls, 11 draw controls and forcing a team-high 10 turnovers. In Franklin's win over Thomas More, she set a new career-high with a six-goal afternoon.
Voss completed her second straight double-digit goal campaign in 2019, finishing second on the team with 10 goals. The Crown Point, Ind.-native led the Grizzlies with 22 draw controls while grabbing 12 ground balls, forcing six turnovers and putting 23 shots on target.
Jones was a rock in goal for the Grizzlies, starting all nine games between the pipes. The Indianapolis, Ind.-native turned aside 137 shots, including a career-best 24 saves in Franklin's win over Thomas More. She was also tops on the Grizzlies with 24 ground balls collected.
