BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Franklin women's golf team took part in their third event of the fall on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 14-15), making their annual trip to Ironwood Golf Course for the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Invite.

For the second straight week, junior Megg Hensler topped the Franklin leaderboard and cracked the top-20 in a field of more than 90 players. The Madison, Ind.-native earned a share of 18th place with a 160 (81-79), recording a round under 80 for the second straight week. The Grizzlies finished 12th overall after finishing with a 36-hole score of 680 (334-346).

Junior Gabi Sharp earned a share of 37th overall, firing a 166 (78-88) and setting a new personal best score on day one of the event. Right on her heels was sophomore Maci French, who finished one shot back in a tie for 39th with a 167 (83-84) and recorded her two best rounds as a member of the Grizzlies.

Junior Jaley Schlosser tied for 79th place with a 187 (92-95) and fellow junior Mackenzie Black took 88th with a 212 (112-100) to round out the Franklin lineup.

Wisconsin-Whitewater took the team title, winning by two shots with a 607.

The Grizzlies will take part in their final event before the conference championships next Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 21-22), when they head to Bluffton, Ohio for the HCAC Preview at Bluffton Golf Course. It marks the first of two straight trips to Bluffton for the Grizzlies, with the HCAC Championships set for the same place in three weeks.
