HARRISON, Ohio – The Franklin women's golf team made their season debut over the weekend, taking part in the Mount St. Joseph Stateline Shootout at Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Course.
Playing in her first career event with the team, Avon, Ind.-native Sharp fired identical 85s to finish with a 170 and earn a spot on the all-tournament team with a fifth-place finish. Right on her heels was Madison, Ind.-native Hensler, who put together a strong round two to move up the leaderboard and earn a share of sixth place with a 171 (90-81).
Sophomore Maci French place third in the Franklin top-five and earned a share of 19th place overall with a 179 (91-88). Junior Jaley Schlosser earned a share of 33rd place with a 192 (95-97) while junior Mackenzie Black rounded out the top-five with a 40th-place finish and a 196 (97-99).
Four Grizzly players competed in the event as individuals. Freshman Mara Wilson tied for 30th place with a 191 (97-94) in her first career event. Sophomore Taylor Dixon took 53rd with a 217 (109-108), Kitley Kern tied for 54th with a 226 (111-115) and Regina Olsen finished 56th with a 229 (119-110).
The Grizzlies continue their fall season in a week, traveling to Liberty, Ind. for the Earlham Invitational on Sept. 6-7 at Liberty Country Club
