RECAP | Grizzlies Take Second Place at Home Fall Invitational

FRANKLIN – On a cool, crisp Saturday, the Franklin College women's golf team welcomed two other schools to The Legends Golf Club for the Franklin College Fall Invitational.

The Grizzlies wrapped up the one day event with a team score of 374, finishing behind Hanover College and in front of St. Mary-of-the-Woods in second place overall.

Junior Keely Townsend finished at the top of the Franklin leaderboard, earning a share of third place with a season-low round of 83. Senior Hannah White joined Townsend in the top-10, earning a tie for seventh place with a 93.

Hannah Sharkey tied for 12th with a 96, Jaley Schlosser finished 18th with a 102 and Megg Hensler rounded out the top-five with a 111 and a 27th place finish.

Four Grizzlies competed as individuals on Saturday. Mackenzie Black tied for 15th with a 97, while Madyson Elmore finished one shot back of her in 17th place with a 98. Sami Roberts earned a share of 19th place with a 105 and Mary Tingle rounded out the FC individuals with a 109 and a share of 23rd place.

Hanover finished 32 strokes clear of the Grizzlies for the win, finishing with a 342. The Panthers' Maddison Cody earned medalist honors as an individual, carding an 80 to win by two shots.

The Grizzlies have just one event left before the HCAC Championships. That event takes place next week in Springfield, Ohio, as the Grizzlies travel to the Springfield Country Club for the Wittenberg Invitational on Oct. 7-8.
