Terre Haute, Ind. - The Franklin College women's golf team shot a season-best score of 338 during Sunday's final round to take runner-up honors at the Rose-Hulman Invitational.
The strong final round at Hulman Links Golf Course moved the Grizzlies from third place after the opening 18 holes.
Sophomore Keely Townsend led Franklin behind a career-best round of 79 strokes to tie for seventh place individually with a 164 composite score. Senior Paige Lundy carded a season-best 80-stroke score on Sunday. Lundy finished in 11th place with a 166 score during the 36-hole event.
Junior Hannah White rounded out Sunday's strong performers with an 87-stroke score.
Hulman Links will serve as the host course for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in October. Franklin was the highest conference school finisher competing in the event, edging Rose-Hulman by two strokes with a 681 team score. Hanover College placed fourth in the tournament with a 691 team score.
Franklin returns to action when it travels to the Transylvania Invitational at Keene Trace Golf Club.
