Two Top-20 Finishes Lead Women’s Golf at Rhodes


Memphis, Tenn. - The Franklin College women's golf team relied on two top-20 performances to finish fourth at the Rhodes Classic over the weekend.

The Grizzlies shot a 334 team score during Monday's final round – 14 strokes lower than they recorded over the first 18 holes on Sunday. For the tournament Franklin shot a 682 team score throughout the two-day tournament.

Sophomore Keely Townsend carded a career-best 81-stroke score during the final round to place 18th in the tournament with a 167 composite score. She recorded an 86-stroke score on Sunday.

Senior Paige Lundy had identical rounds of 85 to tie for 19th place individually with a 170 score. Senior Annie Rodgers followed closely behind tying for 21st place with a 171 score.

Junior Hannah White rounded out the strong performances with a 28th-place finish with 177 score. She carded an 82-stroke score during the final round.

Franklin returns to action when it travels to the Rose-Hulman Invitational at Hulman Links Golf Course from September 17-18 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
