Demetrius Bailey is entering his first year as the Head Men’s & Women’s Track and Field Coach and Assistant Cross Country Coach at Franklin College. In the 2016-2017 season Bailey took over as the Interim Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach. Bailey joined the Franklin College Coaching staff in 2012 as a Cross Country and Track & Field Intern.
In his time at Franklin College Bailey has coached multiple HCAC Conference event champions in the jumps and hurdle events. In 2013 Bailey Coached Jumper Georard Mitchell to the Outdoor National Championship meet in the Long Jump event.
In 2015 Bailey was an assistant Coach for the Indoor women’s conference championship team and was named 2015 Indoor Coaching staff of the year. In the Outdoor season Bailey helped coach the Indiana DIII Track & Field Women’s Championship team.
Also in 2015 Bailey was the Assistant Coach/Strength Coach for the Indoor/Outdoor All- American and Outdoor National champion Anna Murdock.
In 2013-2016 Bailey served as an assistant Football Coach for Franklin College. Coaching running backs and assisted with Special teams. In that time the Football program won 4 Conference Championships.
Bailey was a four-year letter winner in football, indoor and outdoor track and field at Muskingum University. Bailey was a NCAA Division III outdoor national qualifier in the triple jump in 2009 and 2010. He was a seven-time Ohio Athletic Conference triple jump champion and nine-time all-conference award winner in track and field.
Bailey received the school’s outstanding Freshman and Senior Athlete Award with the Roy “Red” Turner Strive for Excellence Award.
He was named the OAC indoor field athlete of the year as a freshman and senior. Bailey holds the school indoor and outdoor triple jump records
