GREENWOOD, Ind. – Four members of the Franklin men's track and field team have been named All-HCAC after strong performances at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships last weekend.
By virtue of winning their respective events, sophomore Matt Stienke and Clayton Brumfield picked up First Team All-HCAC accolades. Sophomore Reed Sauter and senior Nathan Adams were named Honorable Mention All-HCAC after a pair of bronze medal finishes in their respective events.
Stienke picked up his gold medal in the 60-meter hurdles last weekend, winning the event with a new personal-best time of 8.70 seconds. In the finals of the event, the Mooresville, Ind.-native took the top spot by less than .10 seconds over second and third place.
Brumfield became a two-time First Team All-HCAC selection after capturing his second straight gold medal in the mile run. The Greenfield, Ind.-native bested 21 other competitors with a time of 4:25.86, coming within .28 seconds of his personal best time in the event.
Adams turned in another strong showing in the men's weight throw, taking third place and setting a new program record with a toss of 16.28 meters. It marked the fourth time during the indoor season that Adams bested his own program record in the event. Sauter was also a third-place finisher in the finals of the 800 meter run, clocking in with a time of 1:59.72.

The Grizzlies are back in action on Saturday (Feb. 24) afternoon, traveling to Anderson, Ind. for the Fred Wilt Invitational, hosted by Anderson University.
