Men's Track Team Posts Solid Performances at Invitational

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (Feb. 12, 2017) – The Franklin College men's track and field team had a number of impressive performances at Saturday's DePauw Indoor Invitational.

Freshman Reed Sauter finished second in the 600-meter run with a school-record time of 1:24.70. Freshman Clayton Brumfield was second in the 800 run with a time of 2:00.14, and senior Nathaniel Staples placed third in the long jump with a jump of 6.21 meters. He was also fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 11.50 meters.

In addition, sophomore Heath Deugan was fifth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:44.09. Freshman Tyler Doty placed fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.83 meters.

The Grizzlies finished 11th in the team standings.

Next up is the Feb. 18 HCAC Indoor Championships at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
