Greencastle, Ind. - The Franklin College men's track and field team had four top-three performances at the Tiger Small College Invitational on Friday at DePauw University.
The Grizzlies finished in fifth place out of the eight teams during the meet, tallying 64 points.
Senior Eric Thompson (McCordsville, Ind./Mt. Vernon) led the team's effort with a runner-up finish in the mile (4:32.05).
Classmate Matt Millard (Carmel, Ind./Ben Davis) broke into the program's top-10 record book with a third-place performance in the 3,000-meter run (9:28.85).
Sophomore Jon Frederick (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) added six points to the team score with a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (8.92 seconds). The performance was the third-fastest time in program history.
Junior Cody Foster (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) had a third-place performance in the triple jump (12.26 meters).
Junior Richard Conway (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) rounded out the strong efforts with a fourth-place finish in the pole vault (3.70 meters).
Franklin returns to action on Saturday, February 13, at noon when it competes in the DePauw Invitational from Greencastle, Indiana.
