Track and Field Teams Continue Indoor Season on Saturday at Rose-Hulman

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College men's and women's track and field teams continue their indoor season by competing in the Engineer Invitational at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday, January 30, at noon in Terre Haute Indiana.

The women's track and field team took top honors in three events to win the Friday Night Invitational at Rose-Hulman last week. Meanwhile, the men's team posted seven top-eight finishes at the meet.

Junior Erica Christy (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood) is the reigning Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week after winning two events at Rose-Hulman. She placed first in the shot put and weight throw events.

Senior Ashley Myers (Edinburgh, Ind./Edinburgh) is coming off an event victory in the 3,000-meter run.

Senior Eric Thompson (McCordsville, Ind./Mt. Vernon) earned a third-place finish in the 800-meter run at Rose-Hulman to lead the men's team. Junior Cody Foster (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) recorded a pair of strong performances in the jumping events. He recorded a fifth-place finish in the long jump before tallying a sixth-place performance in the triple jump.
