RECAP | Saints Rally in Singles Play to Knock Off Grizzlies

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Playing their second match in a span of 24 hours, the Franklin men's tennis hosted Thomas More College on Sunday (Sept. 30) afternoon at the Mickel-Hoover Tennis Complex.

Franklin (2-3) opened up a lead with a pair of doubles wins, but conceded four points to the Saints (1-1) in singles competition, resulting in a 5-4 Thomas More win.

The Grizzlies earned their first point of the day with an 8-4 win by Jacob Zachary and Matt Stone as the No. 2 tandem. Noah Sturgeon and Josh Stewart teamed up for an 8-6 win as the Grizzlies' third doubles team, sending Franklin into singles play with a 2-1 edge.

Zachary picked up his second point of the afternoon with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Jared Haught at the second singles position and Josh Stewart was a 6-3, 6-1 winner in the sixth singles position. But the Saints rallied to take the final four points to seal the comeback win.

The Grizzlies wrap up their fall schedule with a home match on Tuesday, Oct. 16, when Indiana-East comes to Franklin. First serve comes your way at 4:30 p.m.
