LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Franklin men's swimming & diving team opened their season on Saturday at the University of Louisville and the Derby City Invitational, taking on six teams from  NCAA Division II, Division III, and the NAIA.  The Grizzlies battled hard tough competition from McKendree University, Maryville University, Bellarmine University, Centre College, Rhodes College, and Asbury University, finishing in second place overall with a team score of 514.5.

The Grizzlies were led by strong performances from senior Sam Hall and sophomore James Hone, who tallied 41 points and 42 points respectively for the team. Jack Heim rounded out the top scoring with 38.5 points.  Franklin's dynamic diving duo of Will Combs and Jacob Keener added significantly to Franklin's success as well.  Keener won the men's 1-meter diving competition with 239.1 points followed closely in second by Combs' 237.9 score.  Then, the pair changed places on the 3-meter board with Combs (219.05 points) taking second and Keener (192.40 points) third.
