ANDERSON, Ind. – The Franklin men's soccer team put the finishing touches on a two-game road trip Saturday (Oct. 19) afternoon, taking on the Anderson Ravens as conference play continued.

Franklin (4-12, 1-4 HCAC) battled the Ravens (5-8-1, 2-2-1 HCAC) in a tightly-contested matchup, but the home Ravens got the game's lone goal midway through the second half in a 1-0 Anderson win.

The first half saw the Ravens control the action on the shot clock, attempting eight shots to just one for the Grizzlies. But both AU shots that landed on net were turned aside by Jake Hendricks in goal and the two teams headed into the break locked in a scoreless draw.

Franklin had the first quality chance of the second half less than five minutes in when Dillon Neel's attempt sailed just high of the crossbar in the 50th minute. Both teams traded chances over the next 15 minutes before Anderson's Daniel Collins broke the scoreless draw in the 67th minute.

The Ravens kept Franklin's attack in check the rest of the way, with FC's last-ditch effort coming off a corner kick in the 88th minute. But Jordan Thomas' attempt just missed connecting with the back of the net, bringing the game to a close.

Hendricks finished the afternoon with five saves in his return to the lineup after missing three games. Andrew Vidal led all FC attackers with a pair of shot attempts.

Franklin returns home for their next match, which takes place on Wednesday (Oct. 23) night against league-leading Rose-Hulman. Kick-off from Faught Stadium is set for 8:00 p.m.
