FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin men's soccer team wrapped up a season-opening five-match homestand on Tuesday (Sept. 10) night, taking on in-state rival DePauw University at Faught Stadium.

The Tigers (3-1) jumped in front of the Grizzlies (0-5) early with two goals in the opening 15 minutes of action. That proved to be just the start the visitors needed, as DePauw claimed a 6-0 win.

DePauw opened the scoring just 3:36 into the match, with Sam Kramer potting the opener with a header off a cross. That started a trend that saw the Tigers rattle off 13 first half shots to just one for the Grizzlies, with the Tigers taking a 3-0 lead into the break.

The second half saw the Tigers add goals in the 50th, 54th and 77th minutes, respectively. Final shot attempts were 25-3 in DePauw's favor with Franklin goalkeeper Jake Hendricks finishing the night with nine saves.

Franklin hits the road for the first time this year on Saturday (Sept. 14), when they make the long trek north for a meeting with the Finlandia Lions in the first of two straight games away from home. Kick-off between the Grizzlies and Lions is set for 6:30 p.m.
