INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Two members of the Franklin College men's soccer team earned all-conference recognition from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) when the league announced its post-season award winners on Thursday (Oct. 8) afternoon.
Junior midfielder Jordan Thomas was named Second Team All-HCAC honors while senior outside back Trey Floyd was christened Honorable Mention All-Conference. Both players received their first career all-conference awards. Additionally, senior center back Matt Powell was Franklin representative on the Christopher M. Ragsdale All-Sportsmanship team.
Thomas blossomed into one of the top attacking targets in the league in 2018, leading Franklin with seven goals, 14 points, 45 shots, 25 shots on goal and three game-winning tallies. The Whiteland, Ind.-native finished with a pair of multi-goal games, and his seven tallies were tied for seventh-most in the league with two other players.
Floyd capped his playing career by appearing in 16 matches, including all nine conference games. The Fishers, Ind.-native handed out one assist on the year, showing off his versatility by moving between outside back and holding midfield positions.
