Lexington, Ky. - Alma College scored two first-half goals and added an early tally in the second half to pick up a 3-0 victory over the Franklin College men's soccer team to begin play at the Transylvania Tournament on Friday night.
Alma (5-0) found the back of the net in the 25th minute on a goal from Kyle Farmer. The lead grew to 2-0 with a goal in the 38th minute.
Farmer set up Alma's Austin Gabris for a goal four minutes into the second half.
Franklin attempted 15 shots in the match, led by sophomore Blaine Fuhs and freshman Conrad Bomber each with three shots. Senior Logan McNamee, sophomore Luke Oliver, and freshman Mason May each recorded two shots in the match.
The Grizzlies conclude their season-opening five match road trip on Sunday, September 11 at 2:30 p.m. when they battle Trine University from Transylvania University.
