Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College men's soccer team is seeking a strong finish to the 2015 regular-season and qualify for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament when it hosts Manchester University in the final home match of the season on Wednesday, October 28, at 7:30 p.m. from Faught Stadium.
Winning their last two matches would advance the Grizzlies to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) tournament. Franklin will travel to fourth place Earlham College on Saturday, October 31 in the regular-season finale.
Franklin is 6-8-2 on the season and stands 3-3-1 in conference play. The Grizzlies moved into fifth place in the conference after a 2-1 home victory against Anderson University on Saturday. The top four teams qualify for the HCAC tournament.
Senior Austin Fundenberger (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) and freshman Blaine Fuhs (Washington, Ind./Washington Catholic) lead the team with four goals this season. Fundenberger also leads the team with five assists.
Sophomore Cam Mattern (Pittsboro, Ind./Brownsburg) ranks season on the team with three goals.
Seven other Grizzlies have each scored one goal this season.
Senior goalkeeper Cody Chapman (Vincennes, Ind./Washington) has made 67 saves and recorded four shutouts. Chapman is 6-7 on the season.
