FRANKLIN, Ind. (Feb. 16, 2017) – The Franklin College men's basketball team plays host to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Anderson University on Saturday afternoon.
Part of a Senior Day men's/women's doubleheader, the men's game tips off at 3 p.m. in Spurlock Center.
Franklin senior guard Aaron Mann is the third-leading scorer in the HCAC. He averages a team-high 19.2 points per game and is also the Grizzlies' top rebounder at 6.7 rebounds per game.
Senior guard Robbie Prather is the Grizzlies' second-leading scorer and top three-point shooter. He averages 13.6 ppg and shoots 38.6 percent from behind the arc. Junior center John Beineke averages 12.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game and is Franklin's top field goal shooter at 59.6 percent from the floor.
Freshman guard Braxton Day and senior forward Brent McCory also are among Franklin's top contributors. Day averages 11.3 ppg and 3.1 rpg, and McCory averages 7.7 ppg and 4.9 rpg.
The Grizzlies are 6-18 overall and 3-14 in the HCAC. They are looking to avenge a heartbreaking 102-101 loss at Anderson on Jan. 14.
Tied for second in the league standings, Anderson is 16-8 overall and 13-4 in the HCAC. The Ravens are led by junior Trevor Lucas, who averages team-highs of 21.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore Cole Hartman averages 18.3 ppg, sophomore Stanley Duncan averages 14.5 ppg and senior Nathaniel Acree averages 10.8 ppg.
