Men’s Basketball Falls To Pioneers

FRANKLIN, Ind. (February 15, 2017) - The Franklin College men's basketball team was defeated by Transylvania University on Wednesday evening by a final score of 86-67. Transylvania led wire-to-wire, taking a 4-3 lead early in the first half and never looked back.

 

Senior guard Robbie Prather led the Grizzlies with 23 points, with 21 coming from three point territory. Junior forward John Beineke scored 15 points and senior guard Aaron Mann chipped in 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Kyle Gullett poured in 24 points to lead the Pioneers. Gullett shot 9-13 from the field, including six three point field goals. Cooper Theobald turned in a balanced effort, scoring nine points, while dishing out seven assists and hauling in six rebounds. Gabe Schmitt also chipped in with 14 points in the victory.

 

The Grizzlies will close out the regular season at home on Saturday afternoon, with Senior Day against Anderson University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 PM from the Spurlock Center, with a pre-game ceremony to honor the seniors beginning at 2:45 PM.
