FRANKLIN, Ind. (Jan. 24, 2017) – The Franklin College men's basketball team will host Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Manchester University on Wednesday night.
Franklin's season scoring leader is senior guard Aaron Mann, who averages 18.5 points per game. He is also the Grizzlies' leading rebounder at 6.9 per game.
Junior center John Beineke averages 14.3 points and 6.6 rebounds and is among the HCAC leaders in field goal shooting at 61.7 percent from the field. Senior guard Robbie Prather averages 14.2 ppg and shoots a team-leading 37.8 percent from 3-point range.
Senior forward Brent McCory and freshman guard Braxton Day are also among the Grizzlies' top contributors. McCory averages 8.0 ppg and 5.3 rpg, and Day averages 9.2 ppg and 2.8 rpg.
Franklin is 4-12 overall and 1-8 in the HCAC. The Grizzlies are looking to halt a seven-game skid and avenge a Jan. 4 loss at Manchester.
Manchester is 6-11 overall and 4-6 in the HCAC. The Spartans are led by senior guard Tyler Alexander, who averages team-high totals of 17.2 ppg and 6.7 rpg. Sophomore guard Adrian Johnson averages 14.6 ppg, and freshman guard Erik Bell averages 9.0 ppg.
