Men’s Basketball Drops Road Contest to Transylvania

LEXINGTON, KY. (January 11, 2017)- The Franklin College men's basketball team was defeated by Transylvania University on Wednesday night 87-71. With the loss, the Grizzlies have dropped their last four games.

Senior guard Robbie Prather led the way, scoring 16 points and collecting seven rebounds. Senior guard Aaron Mann chipped in 11 points and six rebounds while playing all 40 minutes.

Transylvania saw all five starters turn in double-digit scoring efforts. Reigning HCAC Player of the Week Cooper Theobald led the Pioneers with 23 points and brought down eight rebounds. Alex Jones recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. With the win, the Pioneers run their winning streak to seven.

Franklin will look to halt its losing streak on Saturday, when they travel to Anderson University. Tip-off 3 p.m.
