FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin college football team put the finishing touches on its 2019 season over the weekend, announcing their team awards during the year-end banquet.
The Grizzlies handed out 19 total awards, with seniors Austin Grunden and Brayton Shannon being joined by sophomore Ian Seim in taking home the team's major awards. Shannon earned the Stewart "Red" Faught Most Valuable Player and the Keith Fiedler Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Grizzlies and the HCAC with 99 tackles.
Grunden was chosen as the team's Offensive Player of the Year after leading the team in rushing (853 yards) and all-purpose yards (985 yards). Seim finished the year with 10 solo tackles on special teams while adding 84 yards on 19 carries on offense.
