Football Opening HCAC Play at Home on Saturday Night against Anderson

Game Notes

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College football team begins its quest for a sixth consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) championship by hosting Anderson University on Saturday, September 19, at 6 p.m. from Faught Stadium.

The game will be the second-ever night game at Faught Stadium. The Grizzlies hosted Butler University in a non-conference match up during the 2013 campaign. As part of the game, Franklin College will recognize 2015 graduate and track national champion Anna Murdock at halftime.

Also, the football program will recognize former players on Alumni Day during halftime festivities. The Franklin College Dance Marathon will collect donations during a Miracle Minute for Riley Hospital, at the conclusion of the first and third quarters.

Franklin is seeking its first win of the season after losing 41-14 at Butler last Saturday and 34-24 to Illinois Wesleyan University at home on September 5.

The team has won its last 21 home HCAC contests, and outscored its conference opposition by a 49-16 average score in those games.

Sophomore wingback Lee Wroblewski (Salem, Ind./Paoli) leads the team with 11 receptions. Senior wingback Kendal Butler (Oakland, Ill./Cumberland) has caught 10 passes for a team-high 91 yards.

Redshirt senior tight end Dylan Jenney (Floyds Knobs, Ind./Floyd Central) has six catches, including the team's lone touchdown pass.

Defensively, senior linebacker Jeremiah Windell (Corydon, Ind./Corydon Central) has registered a team-high 22 tackles. Sophomore defensive back Ryan Conner (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) has made 12 tackles, and had an interception at Butler. The game's special halftime honoree, Anna Murdock, became Franklin's first individual national champion, winning the 800-meter run at the 2015 NCAA Division III Track and Field National Championships. She is a Top 30 semifinalist for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
