FRANKLIN, Ind. – In the early hours of Monday (May 14) morning, the Franklin College baseball team learned their destination and first opponent of the 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.
The champions of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC), the Grizzlies (38-3) earned the fifth seed in the Central Regional and will head to Sauget, Illinois to take on the four seed in the region and champions of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament, the Rhodes College Lynx (29-14).
The eight-team regional will be held at GCS Credit Union Ballpark in Sauget, Ill., which is just across the river from St. Louis, Mo. The regional is a double elimination tournament with the winner qualifying for the pool play, double-elimination championship at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis., scheduled for May 25-29/30, 2018.
