FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College baseball team continued their steady rise up a pair of national polls on Tuesday following a perfect week on the diamond last week.
The Grizzlies (28-2, 11-1 HCAC) went a perfect 6-0 at home last week, picking up conference sweeps of Rose-Hulman and Earlham before finishing out the seven-day stretch with two non-conference wins over Thomas More. That was enough move the Grizzlies up four spots in this week's American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA) poll to No. 13, the highest ranking ever for the FC baseball program.
In the D3Baseball/NCBWA rankings, Franklin vaulted five spots to No. 17 in the nation, the highest they have been rated in that poll since the 2002 season.
Franklin will have a few more days off before welcoming Mount St. Joseph to John P. McDowell Field on Saturday (Apr. 28) afternoon for the team's final home games of the regular season. Additionally, it will be Senior Day at the ball park with senior day ceremonies taking place before the noon first pitch start.
