Baseball Begins Busy Week with Wednesday Doubleheader at Grand Park

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College baseball team will take advantage of spring-like weather to play five games in a five-day span this week. The busy week begins with a doubleheader against Capital University (Ohio) on Wednesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. from Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana.

The Grizzlies are also scheduled to host North Central College (Ill.) and Adrian College (Mich.) on March 13-14 at John P. McDowell Field.

Franklin stands 3-1 on the season after winning a four-game series against Augsburg College (Minn.) from February 27-28 in Emerson, Georgia. Last weekend's series against Albion College (Mich.) was canceled due to inclement playing conditions.

Junior Braden Pelley (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) leads the offensive attack early in the season with a .467 batting average and six doubles. Sophomore Drew Kammerer (Fortville, Ind./Mt. Vernon) has scored five runs and is batting .438.

On the mound, senior Lincoln Jones (Ramsey, Ind./North Harrison) recorded two saves and was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Freshman Aaron Leming (Indianapolis, Ind./Scecina Memorial) threw a complete-game victory in the series finale against Augsburg. He allowed five hits and struck out two batters.
